NYFW Street Style

Fashion week. A crucial time in the lives of all those involved in the fashion world. Stilettos are slipped on, straight off the runway looks are worn by the lucky & models are gliding in and out of amazing creations in record time. Lights go out, music blares & so it begins. Stylists take notes, camera flashes are swarming & the designer can start to breathe a slow (yet needed) sigh of relief.

But to have a successful fashion show, there must be an audience. An audience filled with stylists, fellow designers, editors, actors, musicians, heiresses - the list can go on & on. For they are the ones that will give life to the walking art, just like they do moments before they are seated front row, with their faultless outfits. They walk the pavement of the Upper West Side as if their own runway, bloggers & photographers scurrying for a shot of Anna Dello Russo & Carine Roitfeld (to name a few).

Above are a few of my picks from this years fashion week.

Be inspired.

Welcome to Steve Madden, the home of the great, the glorious & the glamorous. Situated in the heart of Bourke St Mall, the store boasts 3 stories with each level showcasing marvelous pairs of shoes. From stilettos to flats, loafers to sandals, female to male, it has it all!

To break in (pardon the pun) the new shoe chateau, Australian identities & fashions best came for a drink, some nibblies & to shop. One could wander the three levels, champagne & pretzel in hand, have a spin at the wheel & hopefully receive some discounts, or for a lucky few, a free  pair of shoes!

To make the night even better, celebrity DJ/designer/TV host Ruby Rose manned the decks, looking as fabulous as always & creating an atmosphere to not be forgotten.

Thank you to the lovely team for an amazing night & for the generous goodie bags.
